Okay, so I didn't anticipate how bad my SAD syndrome would be. But apparently, February came with a big ol' spike of it and no I did not use my Light Box because I can be stupid at times. No that the storms have passed, I am going out daily again and I have put my Light Box on the table to make sure I actually use it.
It's Wednesday so you know what that means! Another episode of The Merry Writer Podcast. Who knew we'd be going for this long, eh? Okay, so today's topic is one that can split a room but damnit all if we aren't just jumping right in as we ask the question: "Do You Need To Include Trigger Warnings In Your Novel?"
If you caught my last newsletter that went out on Tuesday, I was talking about weaknesses (thanks to everyone who replied to share their weaknesses). No one likes to think about their weaknesses, especially when they are having a big impact, but it's something we all should do.
Holy crap, Batman! We have hit a massive milestone! 100 episodes! Wohoo!! Would can believe we have been chatting away for 100 episodes. So, we decided to do something a little different and today's episode is: "Podcast Tag"
If you caught this week's podcast episode, we talked about reading our work aloud to help catch anything that sounds odd or clunky. In that episode, I mentioned the fact there are programs that will read your text aloud. Well, apparently my version of Microsoft Word has a Read Aloud feature that I didn't know about. So, I tried it!
We are back with another episode of The Merry Writer Podcast and as we teeter on the cusp of triple digits for our episodes, Rachel and I finally got around to discussing writing dialogue as we ask and answer: "What Are The Best Tips For Writing Dialogue?"
Last time I did this, was back in 2019 I believe. So I wanted to do it again, although I had hoped to get it done in January (but obviously that never happened).
While 2021 didn't hit the highs of 2019 for stats, it didn't do too badly either. So I decided to have a look at which blog posts people really loved.
Happy Wednesday, people! Are you ready for another episode of The Merry Writer Podcast? Rachel and I are talking all about descriptions as we ask: "What Are The Best Tips For Writing Descriptions?"
So, *tired laugh* January was a bust! If you caught my last post, you'll know 10 days into January things got... rough and stayed that way until about yesterday. I'll admit this has left me deflated and flagging (emotionally, mentally and physically). But hey-ho, we press on regardless with the hope that February will be better!
