After the success of the Paper Purge Project, where I went through all the papers in my house (and as a writer, I had a LOT of paper... like, 20+ binders, a full filing cabinet, 30 folders, and too many "boxes") I am ready to start tackling the disaster that is my digital life.
Welcome back to another episode of the podcast. Today, Rachel and I are discussing character profiles and asking about adding religion to a character: “Should Religion Be Included In Your Character Profiles?”
Our lives change in different ways. It's important to roll with the changes and adapt. I've felt for a long time that my writing has been struggling and the things I tried didn't seem to last more than a month. It is easy to fall into old patterns, assuming that if they worked before they will work again. This time, I made changes, small ones over a month at the start of the year to see if I could adapt.
Do you love a good antagonist? Considering writing one into your story? Then give this episode a listen as we are joined by special guest Justine Manzano as we ask her: “How Do You Create A Strong Antagonist?”
What the hell happened to May? I have been wracking my brains to figure out what I did during May and honestly, no clue! Other than working on writing (a lot!) but other than that - it's a blank! The month shot through like a comet and we are now in June.
Have you ever thought about where your published book will be one, five, or even ten years from now? That is what we are talking about today as Rachel and I ask and answer the question: “Should You Consider The Longevity Of Your Books?”
I didn't do an update at the end of April, this is because I tanked doing anything in April. But May has been a lot more productive. In case you're new here, the last Friday of (almost) every month is a "Write Life" update where I discuss what I've been working on.
When is it time to let a story go? We like to discuss different thoughts on subjects and while we have, I believe, done an episode on turning bad ideas into good ones and keeping your story ideas, we also wanted to look at the other side when Rachel and I asked and answered the question: “How Do You Let Go Of A Story Idea?”
I love doing fun things when my brain decides everything else is too boring or overwhelming. So when I spotted someone on Insta who talked about making their own laptop wallpaper on Canva my attention was piqued!
