This post was meant to be a Writing Update. But today is different. Today is the 3rd anniversary of my sister's death. And right now, I just want to talk about it. Trigger Warning: Suicide
Our lives change in different ways. It's important to roll with the changes and adapt. I've felt for a long time that my writing has been struggling and the things I tried didn't seem to last more than a month. It is easy to fall into old patterns, assuming that if they worked before they will work again. This time, I made changes, small ones over a month at the start of the year to see if I could adapt.
My brain doesn't always do what it's meant to. Keeping it on track and focused is a full-time job because if I'm not careful, my crazy brain drifts off into daydream land or it is distracted by a shiny object or has a sudden urge to clean something before veering off to do other random things. Because of this, I have to find ways to keep it engaged.
As we close the page on 2022 and look ahead to another year, I am back with a Yearly Wrap-Up. I find it very therapeutic to look back over the last 12 months, at the highs and lows that made up the year. We sometimes miss the small achievements, the learning moments, the simple memories... so that's what these wrap-ups are for.
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen the post I made back on 13th June. I was raising the question, "do I need to make a change?"
I decided to spend the following two weeks, to really contemplate things and come up with a decision and a plan. Well, I actually did that.
Thought I'd do something a little different for today's post and share some photos. I always get inspired when I visit Linda's blog: Walkin' Writin' Wit & Whimsy, Linda always takes the most wonderful nature shots.
Well, since I did a lot of visiting of places when my family was here. I thought I'd share a few photos
As the weather get's warmer, I like to continue my "spring cleaning" by moving from actual cleaning to more keeping on top of specific things. This is a good annual OOT (I know technically because I do it once a year, it's not an OOT, but it's close enough!)
I'm feeling frazzled to the bone. So rather than rush a blog post, I'm going to take a short break...
You may have noticed I missed last Friday's blog post, and this one is going to be pretty short. It's just an update.
