Fun to hear Darlene’s voice! :-) I’m a big fan – of Darlene, of children’s books, of writing children’s books, and of this podcast.
Thanks so much for listening to the podcast. I felt the same way! Darlene and I have chatted for a number of years through our blogs, so it was great getting her on the podcast and having a fun chat!
That’s awesome! Great to hear you are a fan!!
What a good discussion. Thanks.
Thanks, Jacqui. I’m glad you liked it.
Thank you for listening to the podcast episode, Jacqui. We loved having Darlene on to share her insights.
It is a very interesting discussion. It is definitely very important to write for children. I grew up with Astrid Lindgren books.
Thanks for listening Thomas. Astrid Lindgren was a prolific writer. I loved her Pippi Longstocking books that I read to my daughter. She loved them because they showed that it was OK to be different.
Yes I think you are right. Many of Atsrid Lindgren’s characters were different. Pippi, Emil, Karlson på taket, etc.
Thank you kindly for listening to the podcast episode. 🙂
I greatly enjoyed this conversation! I learned a LOT about children’s literature in the 21st century.
Thanks, Liz. I’m pleased you enjoyed the conversation.
You’re welcome, Darlene.
Thank you so much, Liz for listening to the podcast episode with Darlene. It was such a great chat.
You’re welcome, Ari!
Great discussion, Darlene. Reading for kids is very important.
Thanks, John. No matter how busy we are, we need to always take time to read to kids.
So true.
Thank you kindly, John, for listening to the episode. Darlene was great and we were lucky to have her.
Congratulations to Darlene and The Merry Writer team for this lovely podcast. I also believe writing for children is very important. My motivation for writing children’s books is also to encourage reading.
Thanks, Robbie. Not only do you write great books for children, you get your son involved in the writing as well.
And now we are painting together 😊
Thank you so much for listening to the episode, Robbie. I am glad you enjoyed it. Was so much fun meeting Darlene as we have been chatting through our blogs for years! 🙂
💖
Thank you so much for the opportunity to be part of The Merry Writer podcast. It was a fun conversation with both of you.
It was truly our pleasure, was so nice to meet you after conversing with you for so long via our blogs. I do hope we can get you back on again sometimes if you are willing?
You both made it very easy. I am impressed by how organized you are. Of course I would enjoy a return visit. xo
lol It took a LOT of trial and error to get that organised and a crazy Trello Board that is bristling with all our notes and episode plans.
I do feel sorry for our earliest guests so were thrown in head first.
We do always try and make our guests feel at ease, we’ve had a number of guests who are so nervous as it’s their first time podcasting so we try and consider what we would need/want to know to make it easier for everyone.
Great to hear, thanks!
