October Goals 2023

September was a good month in many ways. My partner and I made an effort to do more fun things and treated ourselves to some shows and events. I also got almost everything on my goals list done. Wohoo!

PS: The third and last installment of my 42 Lessons in 42 Years will be next week’s post.

Last Month’s Goals

You know the drill, let’s see how I did with September’s goals

1. Finish Chapters 26 – 29 of The Blessed – DONE – I managed to finish these chapters (they were languishing for a while half-written). I’m not 100% happy with them, so they need more tweaking but at least they are completed.

2. Relocate My Bead Drawers – DONEDuring the first full week of September, we organised all our tools and since they were out… I was able to get my bead drawers off my desk and mounted on the wall! Yay

3. Read a Book I’ve Had For 2 Years – NOT DONEI was hoping to read Red Sister by Mark Lawrence but I ended up having a rough few days and reached for a book I’ve read before that is comforting. Then I bought another new book and have been reading that! lol

4. Increase Weights At The Gym – DONE What wasn’t increased by the class instructor, I increased myself by choosing from the weightier option. 💪

5. Clear Out Boxroom Cupboard – DONE took a whole day because apparently it held the whole of Narnia in there!! Got rid of lots (as much as we could despite all the time-wasters who failed to turn up to collect free stuff!) Organised the tools and downsized a lot of Yuletide decks etc. In fact, we even cleared out the garden shed too!! It was a very productive few days. 🙂 🔨

Added Goals

Because I’m a glutton for punishment and hit a lot of goals in the first week, I added some more and then completed them!

6. Finish Signage for Fayre Stall – DONEClearing out the boxroom cupboard revealed my laminator! So, I finished the signs I wanted to create for the Fayre.

7. Be Intentional On Instagram – DONE If you saw my 4th September post on Instagram, I challenged myself to be more intentional on both my Instagram accounts. I have been working hard to do that without eating too much of my time.

October’s Goals

Okay, let’s see what I’m tackling for this month.

1. Get The Blessed Completed

Writing Goal: I can’t say it’s draft 1 because I’m a bad writer and often edit as I go (I know, I know… not great, I am really working on it). But it is so damn close, I just ended up with some new things to add in. So this month is just going to be slamming this manuscript and getting it completed and edited (by me…again… yes I know, I’m obsessive!)

2. Prep for Christmas Rush

Business Goal: I’m actually a month (or two) behind in doing this. I need to start checking my stock, prepping my best sellers and adding a lot of new stock as we move into November.

3. Read 3 Books (1 must be an ebook)

Reading Goal: I am hoping to get more read this month since I’m on jury duty, so if I have to wait around on the off chance I’m picked, means I should get lots of reading done! I also want to update my Goodreads reading challenge.

4. Try 2 New Exercise Classes at the Gym

Health Goal(s): My referral programme has come to an end but I’ve been able to extend my discounted gym membership. So I want to try new exercise classes and see if I like them and if so, can make them more regular.

~ ~ ~

I’m keeping it to 4 goals because the first 2 are going to be taking all my mental energy and I’m in jury duty so might lose time to this too.

Congrats on your your september goals, and I can relate to one where you choose to read something else, lol. Hope jury duty isn’t too stressful and all the best for your October goals ❤ 🙂
