April Goals 2019 | Monthly Goals

Okay, so for the first quarter of this year, I’ve been at my most scattered.  So I’m not counting it.  Any of it! :p

Last month’s goals

February was a busy month.  I was still recovering from January’s medical issues and our house purchase completed.  The move was not as smooth as I’d have liked and I wasn’t able to keep control of my on or offline responsibilities.

We also have some family medical issues ongoing that meant more hospital visits to see family members and being around on short notice for when our assistance was needed.

1 – Write something – Since January I’ve written almost nothing.  That makes me very stressed, so to take off some pressure, I just had to write something.  Anything!  It took until the end of March, but I actually did it – COMPLETED

2 – Sort banners I am still tweaking my blog, seriously, how much more tweaking does it need, you ask.  I’m just finicky so it still isn’t exactly how I like it. However, my root pages all have banner images on them.  They look so pretty COMPLETED

3 – Post 2 Reviews I also missed this, but I did indeed review a novella Stolen Sun and (product) PARTIALLY COMPLETED (I managed 1)

4 – Organise my craft room – My partner has been working really hard and there’s a lot of pretty bad (medical) family issues going on, so I turned my attention to the rest of the house instead. I wanted him to feel comfortable and not stressed by boxes and clutter so I did all the unpacking for the rest of the house and organised it. I managed a little bit of my room, but still failed – PARTIALLY COMPLETED

5 – Add more products – Technically, I managed to do this, though not many.  Mainly because of the goal above.  It’s hard to make and photograph products when your room is disorganised. So yes I did it, but not as much as I had hoped – COMPLETED

6 – Launch a video – I signed up for a monthly Challenge that gave deadlines and support for creating a video.  It kept me accountable and I actually created my first Skillshare Course COMPLETED (Here’s my first video class!)  – Want 2 free months of Skillshare access?  Click this link to sign up & get 2 month’s premium free.

Finally, I have a successful month.  Let’s hope it’s the start of many more.

This month’s goals

01 – Write

Again I just want to do some writing, though I am aiming for completing 3rd draft Dark Hart because I want to get it to Betas within the next few months.  I’d love to complete the 1st draft of The Blessed but I’m not sure if that’s possible.

02 – Update Blog / Looking into new themes

I have some additional changes to make to this blog and I want to look at possibly changing the theme and layout.

03 – Post 2 reviews

I am going to try and do 2 reviews this month, especially because I’m hoping to read more.

04 – Organise my Craft Room

Okay…for the third time.. this is going on my list.  I really want to get this organised and since we are planning some changes in the house, I might actually manage it.

05 – Read more

I almost gave an actual number to hit, but I can’t because things change so fast.  So I’m just going to leave this as read more.

06 – Implement new marketing

I have some new marketing ideas that I want to start to give my business a little boost.  Will try a few out and see what works best.

07 – Do taxes

I hate leaving my taxes so I want to get well ahead this year, so I want to get it sorted the moment I pass into the new tax year.

How are your goals going?

  1. OMG! That’s amazing, congratulations on getting your first Skillshare video up and running. I’ve listened to the intro and it’s professional, insightful and motivating.
Well done, I’m so proud of you. 💕👏😁

    1. Awwww… thank you so much. You have no idea what that means to me. That 20 sec intro too 30mins to record because I just kept deleting it whenever I heard my voice.

I do get more confident later on but it was so nerve-wracking doing it, knowing it would be going online.

But now I’ve done it I hope I can keep those nerves and fears at bay and try to do more. 🙂

  2. As usual . . .

Goals? I just can’t bear the thought of weighing myself down with them these days. It’s so distressing when I don’t reach them. 😞

With the Skillshare thingy – is there a basic level or only the premium one? If there is a basic, how much does it cost? I couldn’t find it anywhere. I do wish sites would be more upfront with their costs/pricing.

    Hugs! 😃

    1. You can use skillshare for free and have access to all the free videos. Or you can pay for the premium and have access to all the videos.

If you sign up using my link you get 2 months free, so what you can do is make a note a week before your free trial rubs out and just cancel your subscription before they take your money.
