This week’s guest post is an interview with writer Lindsey Richardson. Enjoy!

Q01 – When did you decide you wanted to become a writer?
A: I’ve always loved writing. When I was 12 was the first time I finally thought “what if I wrote a book,” and that’s when I finally wrote my first complete novel.
Q02 – Are there any authors who inspire you?
A: So many authors. Tamora Pierce, John Green, V.E. Schwab to name a few.
Q03 – Who is your biggest supporter?
A: My boyfriend and my family. They’re the first ones to usually read my work and they’re always at book signings and other events.
Q04 – What is the title (or working title) of your current manuscript and can you tell us a little bit about it?
A: Clara and Ezra, the sequel to Clara and Claire. We follow Clara in the second book as she works to solve a series of murders.
Q05 – How long have you been working on this manuscript?
About a year now.
Q06 – Do you plan your stories or just leap into the writing?
It depends on the book. With the Magicians series I planned a lot (to keep everything in order), but with my more recent books that are not part of a series I sometimes try to plan less and let the characters take over the storytelling.
Q07 – Do you have a writing routine?
Yes, I usually do my best writing at night, so I tend to write into the late hours of the night.
Q08 – What is the hardest part of the writing process for you?
Editing –it’s no fun for anyone but it’s necessary.
Q09 – What are your thoughts on Self Publishing vs Traditional Publishing?
Both are acceptable nowadays. Personally, I love self-publishing. It might require more work and is harder to recognized, but it has its perks.
Q10 – What is the single best piece of advice you could give to new writers?
You have to be willing to stand or fall with your book no matter what.
Q11 – Are there any authors you would love to meet in person?
E. Schwab
Q12 – Tells us why you love writing
It’s my passion. It allows me to tell stories.
