It's Wednesday, so it's time for another episode of The Merry Writer Podcast, today Rachel and I turned our attention to good ol' Self-care and asked the question: "What Are Good Self-Care Tips For Writers?"
It's Wednesday, so it's time for another episode of The Merry Writer Podcast, today Rachel and I turned our attention to good ol' Self-care and asked the question: "What Are Good Self-Care Tips For Writers?"
On today's podcast episode we shift gears to talk a little about being a reader and ask the question: "Do You Review Books That You Read?"
April turned out to be a hair-pull-inducing stress month. Filled mostly with packing our home, moving boxes, stripping the worlds-worst wallpaper and trying to coordinate tradesmen who seemed incapable of a) answering their phones or b) replying to voicemails, texts or DMs (even when THEY told us which they preferred). So I am approaching May with a lot more caution - mostly because I will be without an office, will have limited internet access and have to spend large amounts of time out of the house while people fix things.
Today on the podcast we are talking about something I think almost all writers dread, but we're not alone, we welcome special guest author Wilmar Luna onto the show and ask the question:
"How Do You Deal With One Star Reviews?"
This is a paranormal fantasy romance by author Elisha Bugg. I was given a free copy of this book by the author with the option to write an honest review. Reluctant Guardian is Book One of the Otherworld Guardians Series.
Yesterday,(27th April) was Tell A Story Day so Rachel and I thought it might be nice to share our favourite childhood stories, especially those that were read to us as children. So this week's episode we asked:
"What's Your Favourite Childhood Story?"
Let's talk origin stories, AUTHOR origin stories! In today's episode Rachel and I discuss our own writing origin stories by asking the the question:
"When and How Did You Begin Writing?"
You may be reading this title and scratching your head wondering what the heck an OOT is? Don't worry, it's not some strange new dance or the latest social media platform full of people doing that new strange dance! OOT refers to "One Off Tasks!"
On today's episode, we are talking all about Book Covers. After all, it's the first thing a potential reader will see and so we are asking:
"How Important Are Book Covers?"
PS: YES I am aware that I kept saying "topography and not TYPOGRAPHY", give me a break I was having a rough day! :p
On today's episode, I was flying solo as host but I wasn't alone, as I welcomed author Kim Golden to the show to give her personal experience regarding editing her novels as this week's question we ask:
"How Many Rounds Of Edits Do You Typically Do?"
