January Goals 2023

I ummed and ahhed about whether I still wanted to list my monthly goals as a blog post.  When I first started doing it a few years ago, it really helped, but then 2021 kinda derailed me.  I decided to continue to do this but if I feel these posts aren’t servicing me, I’ll drop them.

January Goals

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen these goals listed.  I wanted to create goals for each of the important categories I am working on – writing, business, reading, blogging, health and house.

1. Write 3,000 Words For The Blessed (writing)

This equates to less than 100 words a day.  This is to a) get me into the swing slowly and b) give me wiggle room on days when I can’t get anything written due to other commitments.

2. Create 2 New Product Lines (business)

I wanted to start with a good strong business goal and due to the Royal Mail strikes that occurred throughout the last few months of 2022, my shop stuttered a little.  (Please note I support the strikes 100%) However, I need to get my relevancy boosted and also get back to making new items.  I already have the two lines planned out I just need to create them.

3. Read 2 Books (reading)

I didn’t read as much last year as I’d hoped.  I just seemed to struggle (thanks, Depression!) but I feel a lot more relaxed and more “myself” so I think 2 books a month should be doable at a minimum.  Especially because I want to start finishing books on my TBR pile and clearing out my bookshelves of books I won’t read again.

4. Write 4 Blog Posts (blogging)

Technically I’m already halfway through this goal as this is my 2nd blog post of the month.  Just two more to go!

5. Do My Stretching Routine 3 Times A Week (health)

I found a new 15min stretching routine that is really good and now I’ve cleared enough floor space in my office, I want to start doing it a few times a week in order to feel the benefit!

6. Walk At Least 27 Days In The Month (health)

Another health goal, over the Christmas holidays, our walking schedule went out the window.  So I want to get back to it.  Now, while we try and walk every day, I wanted to give wiggle room again for those days when we are ill (I currently have COVID while writing this, so looks like past me was smart enough to expect this!).  Hopefully, I still have enough days left in the month to get the walks in.

7. Clear Through 2 Storage Boxes (house)

I got a new IKEA Kallax unit in our small box room and all the extra stuff that needs to be gone through has been stored (temporarily) within it.  I want to make sure I am actively working towards getting it mostly cleared through.  Firstly, because this is to be my overflow for business stock and secondly because it’s the last few parts of the house purge to get done.

~ ~ ~

These are actually mostly simple goals, and that’s how I wanted to have them.  They may look like a lot, but I’ve already broken them down over the weeks of January (including shunting most of them out of the first week of January due to jolly ol’ COVID coming to visit).

    1. Thank you. I am finally feeling better (just got a little cough that refuses to leave) and most of the tiredness that comes with Covid has gone.

So glad, hugs to you and I hope the cough and tiredness will go away soon too, but take it easy and look after yourself ❤ 🙂

I actually love it that you have posted your monthly goals because it inspires me to do likewise and not just live day-to-day being driven around by every whim. I like when there is a given purpose to the time I spend, even though I wrestle with staying on track. Thank you so much for this post!

    1. Thanks, I am glad you found this post inspiring. I really enjoy sharing my goals and it does help to keep them front and centre. Especially as when I do next month’s goals post, I will check back in with January’s goals and see how I did.
