Taking A Little Break

As you may be aware, we’ve been having work done in our house.  That means a lot of trademen trapising through, doing their thing.  Which is great, the house is starting to really look like a home (and when you are home-birds and work from home, making it comfortable is super important).

However, it does mean I’ve had to deal with a lot of people, for a large amount of time and that just drains me right down.  Along with all the parts we are having to do ourselves, add in my senior cat, Walter had to go in for surgery and needs extra TLC and I’m preparing for my family visiting very soon…

… well, it’s a lot and I’m feeling frazzled to the bone.  So rather than rush a blog post, I’m going to take a short break.

I’m hoping to get back on my feet properly next week and have everything written and scheduled for when the family visits.

I also have limited internet at the moment, so any emails, comments or DMs I receive may not get a reply for a week or so.

I’ll be back soon, stay safe!

    1. The rest was good, the family visit was… overwhelming (I don’t “people” well) but was nice seeing them and we got a lot done, so then I needed another break! lol

      1. Take that break while the weather is great – if it is anything like our weather, it’s become unpredictable and a pain to try to schedule anything due to rain all the time. I don’t “people” well either because I live alone, work from home the past 11 years, so I am not around a lot of people and especially since COVID began. I can/could really do without crowds, even before the pandemic.

      2. We just seem to have rainy days with the odd sunny moment scattered through the day. So it’s unpredictable too! You feel like you need to go out with sunscream and rainboots!

Oh yes, even before the pandemic it was nice working from home avoiding people. 🙂

      3. This weather is winning no prize over here, that’s for sure.

I enjoy working from home and when my boss and I moved out on our own, it was great not having to deal with all the administrative details and micromanagement that you see in a big law firm. So that was a nice stepping stone, just us, but working here by myself is much nicer.

Don’t push yourself. Your body will give out, and give you precious little warning. Take two weeks or more. Your health is paramount. We’ll still be here. Don’t blog, no merry writer, just rest and cool your jets. Your family will understand. I’ve been where you are, and pushing yourself has horrible – some life altering – side effects.

    1. The break was exactly what I needed, just sitting and resting or sleeping in. I am definitely going to be having more breaks. Thanks, Tom

    1. Thank you, Michael. The break was exactly what I needed to recharge.

Yes, he is called Walter. The Rescue we got him from likes to name all their cats with for want of a better term “human names”. 🙂
