Want To Join My Advent Calendar Story Project 2025?

It’s that time again (actually, I’m a little late!). Are you ready to join the Advent Calendar Story Project for 2025?

It’s very simple, if you are a writer, think you can write a (up to) 1000 word flash fiction on a theme (to be confirmed) then consider joining the project.

The Advent Calendar Story Train

Okay, so it’s NOT actually just that simple. There are some requirements such as:

Each writer on the train will write a single, self-contained, flash fiction story.
Each writer will be given a specific date in December when their story needs to be published on their blog*.

* If you have a Wattpad, ko-fi page, or a Medium account you can list the story – this is also acceptable – but your story must be publically available. As long as the story can be uploaded (preferably scheduled) on the specific date you are given and if links can be added to link to previous and following stories.

At the bottom of the story, the writer will include a link (these will be supplied) to the day before’s story and the next blog on the train where the following story will appear.

This means from the 1st to 24th December, there will be a new story to read every day and each will feature a link that sends readers to the next story.

As per last time, I will also create a page on my blog linking to all 24 short stories that will be listed.

To Particiate

  • You do not have to have written flash fiction before, first timers welcome!
  • You must have a blog* for your story to be uploaded too.
  • You must be able to commit to completing your flash fiction by end of October at the latest (earlier is always better).
  • This is a first come first serve system. However, I will include a waitlist as last year some people were unable to continue due to extenuating circumstances.
  • Dates will be issued to people later in the year.
  • If you know someone who might be interested in this feel free to share it with them.

Requirements & Sign Up

To make my life (and everyone else’s life) easier, I have created a Google Form for submissions.

At the top of this form it includes a full list of the requirements/rules, additional info and step by step instructions. (So you can check them whenever you need).

Are You Interested?

If you think you might be interested, please visit this Google Form, read the details carefully and complete the form if you still want to proceed. (There is even a space on the form for you to suggest a theme)

    1. Hi Suzanne, just spotted it now! apologies, this post was scheduled so I’d listed everyone I had down on the day I wrote it rather than the day it went live! lol

I’ve now added you to the list 😀 Glad to have you back with us on the train
