The Rough Draft Challenge

Since the last few months have not been as good for my writing as I would have liked, I was considering trying a challenge to help me get back into the writing swing with more consistency. Well, I found one. Enter, the Rough Draft Challenge!

It’s the first of November which for many would mean joining NaNoWriMo. However, there has been a lot of controversy with NaNo so many people have been moving away and looking for another challenge.

If you are one of these people, let me point you towards the Rough Draft Challenge by Sarra Cannon.

Personally, I never really got into NaNo, I tried it once. Didn’t really care for it and never tried it again. However, I know a lot of writers do NaNo and many have started to distance themselves because of the stuff that has happened there.

One of the authors I follow, Sarra Cannon, who got me into KanBan boards for my tasks (more on that in another post) has started the Rough Draft Challenge.

There is a website where you can sign up. I actually like the simplicity of this site.

There are tiers for specific goal counts and a place to set your own goals, create your projects and a graph that will track your progress.

Rather than talking through it all, I’m going to add Sarra’s YouTube video below where she discusses how to join and talks you through the details.

Despite currently being ill with flu (I seriously cannot catch a break with these illnesses) I have just signed up for the Sapphire Tier of 25K. *laughs* Let’s see how well I manage that!

And yes I appreciate I’m sharing this on the first day of the challenge, but again – I have flu. I’m impressed I even managed to get this written.

Let me know if you love doing writing challenges, if you decide to sign up for the #RoughDraftChallenge or if you have another challenge you will be doing instead!

PS: Sorry for not replying to emails and comments. Between being crazy busy and being ill, I just haven’t gotten to them yet. I always appreciate all comments and emails, and I will get around to them. x
