  1. A good topic. I used to be very stingy with 5 star reviews but I have come to realize if the book entertained me, was almost error free and I understood the characters, the author did what they were supposed to do and they get 5 stars. The book will lose points if there are many errors, the characters lack dimension, it’s poorly written and I was bored. I hate waiting for something to happen and it never does. Books that make you cry are certainly a good example of 5 star worthiness. For me it was Old Yeller, Black Beauty and Little Women as a child. The Winter Pony and The Bridges of Maddison County as an adult. (and many more, it doesn’t take much to make me cry.)

    1. I know what you mean about books that make you cry. If a book can hit me in the heart that much, then it’s definitely a 5-star worthy. I love Black Beauty. Books that made me cry were The Fox Cub Bold, Watership Down, Plague Dogs to name a few (I always end up crying with books about animals)
