I appreciate by the time this post goes up we will be in the 2nd week of January. But damn, do I like consistency and it would have annoyed me if I didn’t have January Goals listed. So I wanted to get my January goals up, look over my December goals and charge ahead strong this year.
Last Month’s Goals
Let’s look at how I got on with last month’s goals.
01 – Plan the Writing Challenge – DONE
02 – Work on closing my sister’s platforms – DONE (I have contacted all the different platforms, just waiting them them to complete things – this left me so furious and stressed due to how useless these platforms are when dealing with this.)
03 – Complete my Business Taxes – DONE (got this done on the very last day of 2021 but I did it!)
04 – Send out Newsletter(s) – DONE
05 – Complete Xmas Shopping – DONE
This Month’s Goals
01 – Do a purge of the house
As mentioned in my Yearly Goals, I am tired of the clutter that seems to have been growing steadily. We moved to a smaller house when we moved to Northern Ireland but still have so much stuff from the bigger place.
We had been reducing it steadily just before the pandemic hit and then suddenly trying to get rid of things ethically (donating/giving rather than throwing away perfectly usable items) became tough.
Things are getting better with charities now able to take more things again, so my partner has booked a week off in January so we can just blitz through as much as possible.
02 – Start the Couch to 5K Challenge
We used to do running, but it went by the by, but we want to get it back into our habits. The CouchTo5K challenge is definitely the best. So we will be working through that starting this month.
03 – Work through the Uber Frugal Challenge
I joined the Uber Frugal Challenge which is a monthly challenge run in January by the FrugalWoods. I have followed this blog for years and when the challenge came back this year, I decided I wanted to join.
04 – Send out newsletters(s)
Yup this one is just staying on indefinitely.
05 – Read one book
Due to the ridiculous size of my TBR pile, I made a decision at the end of last year to buy no more books (bar one, that I’d already planned to by). I have to stop adding to my TBR pile and start working through it. So I will be reading more this year and NOT buying more books until next year!

I am still recovering from the illness, travelling and peopling I had to do over the Christmas period, so I am leaving it at 5 goals this month.
What is one thing you want to accomplish this month?

Happy writing & stay safe
One thing I MUST do this month is get the course I’m teaching off to a good start. We are beginning with a “soft opening–“online.” It will be a challenge.
I hope the course you are teaching is going well.
So far–great! I have a good, younger-than-usual “crop” of writers this time…ought to be interesting!
That sounds awesome!
Awesome job on your December goals, and I hope your January goals are going well so far.
I’m not doing goal lists this year, but one thing I’d like to get done this month is to get the paperback sorted for the book I published in December. I’ve got the stuff I need to deal with it. I just need to get it uploaded to the site so the paperback can be produced and made available for sale.
I hope you manage to get your paperback sorted. 🙂
Nope. Still haven’t done that. LOL!
lol I’m sure you’ll get it sorted eventually 🙂
