It’s time for the last goals of the year! November was more of a success than I expected, especially since I got ill again for over a week, my cat’s been ill and needed a lot of care and then got a mass of orders that just kept me busy. But having the structured system has definitely helped keep me on track.
Last Month’s Goals
Let’s look at how I got on with last month’s goals.
01 – Decide on January’s podcast questions – DONE (actually I managed to decide on questions for February and March too!)
02 – Finish painting the kitchen – DONE (FINALLY!! This was pretty close, as we didn’t manage to get to it until the 28th, but it’s made such a difference. Another big job, off the list)
03 – Start doing business taxes – DONE (I’m actually further along that I thought, I have an issue with one part and then I should be able to complete my taxes. Usually, just organising all the paperwork takes ages)
04 – Send out Newsletter(s) – DONE
05 – Read two book – PARTIALLY DONE – (only managed to read one)
06 – Put up all pictures in Craft Room (OOT) – DONE (these are all now up)
07 – Write a scene a day – PARTIALLY DONE (this was going to be a big push towards getting me consistently writing…then I got sick for over a week and was derailed. *Sigh*)
08 – Write all Xmas cards – DONE (even better, I found these awesome cards that plant a tree for each card and comes with a “seed token” that can be planted and is full of bee-friendly seeds!)
09 – Sort Podcast timestamps – DONE
This Month’s Goals
01 – Plan the writing challenge
The original 85K90Day Challenge may have closed down, but I loved the idea of writing 85,000 words in 3 months. NaNo’s 1 month timeframe is too restrictive for me.
So I am going to be working on using Jan, Feb and Mar of 2022 to really power through with book 1 of The Blessed and maybe even book 2.
02 – Work on closing my sister’s online platforms/accounts
I’m putting this back on my list, I think I’m in a better headspace and I will have a good chance of getting this completed when I’m back in England as I will need my mother’s assistance due to her being the official administrator of my sister’s estate etc.
03 – Complete business taxes
Okay so HMRC is really pushing everyone to complete the taxes well ahead of the January 31st deadline and since I have most of the papers sorted, I will try and get this done in early December.
04 – Send out newsletters(s)
Yup this one is just staying on indefinitely.
05 – Complete Xmas shopping
I just haven’t cared to do it yet but since the holidays are creeping ever closer and I need to get the shopping done before I head back to England, I need to put this here before I forget completely.
~~~
Rather than run myself ragged as I usually do, I am just keeping this month’s goals at 5. I’m closing my shop a week earlier than normal and will try and have a few days of relaxation before I travel (which is always stressful for me). That way I can start fresh in 2022 without burn-out.
What is one thing you want to accomplish this month?
Happy writing & stay safe
Glad you managed to do so well with November’s goals, despite you and your cat getting sick. Hope both of you are doing better. And good luck with December’s goals.
I didn’t do all the crafting and reading I planned to in November, but I did sort out the issue with my missing narrator (I replaced her) and find a narrator for the book I published in October. So I completed two of my four November goals, and partially completed the other two. I also managed to finish and pre-release a new book, which will be officially releasing on December 13th. Plus, I finally got around to dealing with the recording for a podcast interview I did before I was on yours, which I had a copy of so wanted to put up on my YouTube channel (since the person who did the podcast said I could) and did a couple of other things to put up on there.
I need to finish some of that crafting and reading this month, though I know for a fact I won’t be completing my reading goal this year… I’m just too far behind. But both those goals are staying on my list, along with finishing holiday shopping (I started it last month, but still need to get a few things) and creating some new content for my YouTube channel, which I’d like to put stuff on at least a bit more regularly.
