October Goals 2021 | Monthly Goals

September was a really tough month, busy but also with some family stress, a continuing bout of SAD Syndrome and one of my beloved cats got very sick.  He was at the vets a lot, had a number of examinations, tests and procedures, lost a lot of weight and had to stay over.

We did get to bring him home and have been trying to get him eating, he’s still not out of the woods yet but we are hopeful at this time.  But it’s been emotionally draining.

Last Month’s Goals

Let’s look at how I got on with last month’s goals.

01 – Complete 2 months of TMW Games – DONE (between myself and Rachel we got these done!)

02 – Finish painting the kitchen – NOT DONE (… things conspired against me)

03 – Get 2nd vaccine – DONE

04 – Send out Newsletter(s) – DONE (late but done)

05 – Read one book – DONE

06 – Organise Greeting Cards (OOT) – NOT DONE (*sigh*)

07 -Go through our Cable Box (OOT) – DONE (went through everything, had so many old, unnecessary plugs, cables and equipment!)

08 – Plan some Ko-fi Only Content – DONE (Yes!  I got my Ko-fi page up and running, new content appears once a week)

This Month’s Goals

01 – Complete December’s TMW game

My Xmas rush is full steaming ahead, so I want to make the end of the year easier.  So I want to get December completed.

02 – Finish painting the Kitchen

This is being re-added, as it’s the last “temporary” job in the kitchen that will make it look and feel a whole lot nicer.

03 – Start my Holidays Business Plan

With the Xmas rush starting early, I need to implement my Holidays Business Plan including getting all my stock prepped and all major stock is ordered and received.

04 – Send out newsletters(s)

Yup this one is just staying on indefinitely.

05 – Read one book

My partner spurged on more books… as if we don’t have enough already! lol  He bought me several new ones and I am hoping to get at least one read this month.

06 – Organise Greeting Cards (OOT)

Since I failed this TWICE I am putting it here and adding NO other OOTs.

07 – Catch up on my Purchase Invoices

I like to normally keep on top of my business records, but with all the crazy of this year I have not updated my Accounts spreadsheet with all the purchase invoices.  So I want to give a day to get all that sorted.

What is one thing you want to accomplish this month?

Sorry September was a stressful and emotionally draining month for you. Hope your cat gets better soon.

Well done on completing so many of your goals for September despite everything, and good luck with your goals for October.

I completed my big goal of sorting the craft room last month (check out my blog for photos) apart from getting the paperwork and books in order. I also managed to get the computer room and living room to the same point. So my big goal for October is to get books, DVDs, and various craft related paperwork in order. My Dad is coming over to help me with the craft paperwork, since having visual help will make it much easier to achieve, and he knows more about what may or may not be useful as regards crafting stuff than my hubby does.

My other big October goal is to catch up on my reading. I think this was meant to have been on last month’s too, but I can’t remember without checking and can’t be bothered to go check right now. Either way, I failed to do it, and am actually more behind on reading now than I was at the start of September. Shame I forgot my headphones when I took my Kindle with me when I got stuck at A&E for almost 24 hours during the last weekend of September, making reading in the very noisy and crowded hospital impossible, because all the reading I could have done in that amount of time would have really helped, but as it was I ended up giving up pretty quickly. At least I remembered the headphones when I went back for an appointment and spent a few hours there this past Friday.

I have a third October goal too, which is to make a start on some Christmasy craft projects I want to get to (making Christmas cards, for example). I don’t have loads I spacifically need to get done in time for Christmas, but with posting being so slow and most stuff needing to be posted, I need to at least start it this month. The plan is to listen to a book while working on these projects, so I can try to catch up with the reading at the same time.

    1. Thanks Tori, I really appreciate your kind words. Not sure whether he will ever get better, hes of the age that it’s more about making him comfortable and treating symptoms as they arise and having as much time with him as we can while he’s still enjoying life.

I know what you mean about reading, I have dropped right off the bandwagon with that, though I am making myself take time in the evening to read and trying NOT to reach for my phone! (such a bad habit)

I saw on your blog about the A&E fiasco, sorry you had to spend SO long there and they got your results wrong. 111 can be good, but sometimes they can be a real pain.

They ummed and ahhed about sending me to A&E when I was in agony, finally they conceded it might be a good idea and I was so bad when I arrived I had to be given morphine instantly. It really depends who you can on the phone

Love the idea of Christmasy craft projects, not that I have the space for such at the moment. I hope you get a chance to make some things! 🙂

Sorry to hear that (both about the cat and about how hard it was to get them to send you to A&E). Yeah, it really depends on the operator you get through to how good 111 can be, that’s for sure.

    1. Thanks Kate, we are doing everything we can. Everytime we seem to solve one issue, another pops up. It’s very emotionally and mentally draining but we’d do anything to make him comfortable and well again.
