It’s the first Friday of February so that means, time to recap January’s monthly goals and then lay out my goals and plans for this shiny new month!
I am trying to make sure my monthly goals (at least some of them) are stepping stones towards my Yearly Goals. I do this by having my Yearly Goals written on my whiteboard so I see them every day.
Last Month’s Goals
Let’s look at how I got on with last month’s goals.
01 – Write Every Day – ALMOST!
02 – Edit Sanctuary – DONE
03 – Read one book – DONE
04 – Create Ko-fi Video – DONE (wanna see? Head over to my Ko-Fi page, scroll down a little and you’ll see the intro video!)
05 – Create February & March TMW game questions – PARTIALLY DONE (I completed February but not March)
06 – Strip wallpaper – NOT DONE (*sigh* we had another house issue crop up & had to get a surveyor out so all other work had to go on hold)
07 – Send out Newsletter(s) – DONE
08 – Create a new Library resource – DONE
This Month’s Goals
01 – Write 2000 words of The Blessed
While I did write a lot in January, almost every day, I didn’t write as much as I wanted. In truth, that was not completely my fault. My business had it’s best month EVER in the 9 years I’ve been in business and I was overwhelmed with work (even had to draft my partner in to assist). But I want to make this month’s writing goal more meaty!
02 – Create a Merry Writer Podcast Pinterest Board
And fill it! Rachel and I want to give the podcast a boost and hopefully reach a wider audience and Pinterest is a great way to do that, I just haven’t got around to it. So I want to get a board created and add at least 20 pins to it!
03 – Read 2 book
I was going to stick to one book, but I’ve already READ a book this month! So I am bumping this to 2 books.
04 – Complete March’s game questions
Since I failed to complete March’s game questions last month, it’s going on this month’s list. I like it when we are nice and ahead with anything that connects to social media.l
05 – Complete my sister’s taxes
There is a lot of things to deal with following a death, more than you ever realise! I have managed to sort almost all of my sister’s estate, but not her business taxes. I’ve been struggling to get them done. Maybe because these are the last thing to do and makes it more final. I know that sounds strange, to almost be “holding on” to one last task.
06 – Book in Woodworm people
Stupid woodworm!! For those who don’t know, following the full re-wire we had to get done at the end of last year, woodworm evidence was spotted! So we need to get out the woodworm people to deal with this. Hopefully, this will be the last damn thing to do before we can actually start bringing all of our belongings back into the house.
07 – Send out newsletters(s)
This is on every monthly goal list to keep me on track and remind me. I have two newsletters, one for my author platform and the other for my business.
08 – Update newsletter series emails
I think it’s time I updated and tweaked my welcome emails to my newsletter. If you are not yet on my mailing list and want to be, you can subscribe here.

Happy writing & stay safe
Well done with completing so many of January’s goals. Hope you do just as well – if not better – with February’s goals.
Best of luck!
