Okay seriously, where is this year going!? I blink and boom, it’s November! Anyway, enough of that, on to my goals.
For those who don’t know, I give myself a set of monthly goals and try and complete at least two-thirds of them.
I put them in my blog as a form of accountability and so far, it’s working 🙂
Last month I originally gave myself 8 goals. Then partway through the month I added on another 2 (why do I do this too myself?) I have only managed to complete 7 out of the 10 goals.

01 Write 10,000 words of my current WIP, The Blessed
Once again I exceeded this goal last month but I’m keeping it at the same limit because I am still busy with my shop and if I try to up it, I just know I’ll fail miserably.
02 Type up new edits for Dark Hart
I am hoping that my Alpha Reader will complete the 2nd draft’s notes this month. However, I do have over half of the WIP back, so I am going to start going through and editing the story accordingly.

03 Update at least 10 earlier blog posts
This is going back down to 10. I know I’m close to finishing these damn updates but I am already stretched thin with some new projects so I have to let this reduce for now.
04 Plan and write 2 months worth of content
Currently, I write a week’s worth of content in one day and that keeps me going, but with so much going on in the next few months, I could really do with getting my blog set up so I don’t have to think about it as much. This is a really stretching goal, but I’m confident I can manage it… maybe.

04 Take 10 photos for “Image Book”
This is a project I created for my young nephew who has serious developmental conditions.
I struggled with this goal last month as I’m waiting for other people as a number of these photos needs to be of family members and that’s always fun trying to snatch time with people who are already busy but let’s keep trying.
05 Do 2 beta reads
I currently have 2 beta reads to complete and I am going to get them done this month. I don’t like not completing these projects for people who asked me so I am adding them to my goals list.

Only 5 goals? Yes, I need to find more time to focus on my business with the holidays coming up and my partner and I are currently buying a house, which is massive stress and involves a lot of meetings with solicitors and brokers as well as organising surveys etc.
So this month I am going to TRY and keep to just 5 as not to overstretch myself (for once).
Do you find it hard to keep up with goals as we get closer to the holidays?

For those who of you who also create goals, good luck with them all!
Sorry to say, get used to time flying. It gets worse as you get older. 😏
Good luck with your goals! You’re a brave soul, posting them like this. 😊
lol thank’s Pearl. Yes, it does feel like it has been speeding up after every birthday.
Thanks, 🙂 I do like posting them, it has been a big push to help me stay accountable
I’ve read that accountability helps. I just don’t have the guts to make it so public. I really admire you for it.
Hugs! 😊❤️
Aww thanks Pearl. I’ve been lucky, everyone who reads my blog is always so supportive and encouraging so even on those times I’m failed (miserably) my goals, I’ve had just positive encouragement which is nice 🙂
I try to be realistic with goals. I’ve learned from the past not to bite off more than I can chew. I’m having surgery on my knee next month so that may slow me a bit.
As for you, I have no doubt your goals will be achieved. You are a machine, my friend. 🙂
lol thanks Bryan. I do try and work my goals around whether I have a lot of other things on. Like I major scaled down my goals this month because I could feel myself getting ill and with the house buying that is going to take up a lot of time.
It doesn’t always work. Sometimes I get overly ambitious and add waaay more goals than I should. :p
Good luck withyour November goals.
Hey, considering how many goals you had for October, I think you did well to complete most of them.
I don’t find the holidays makes much diffrence to me. This is probably because I prefer a quieter celebration.
Hi Victoria, thank you for your kind words, I appreciate them 🙂
The holidays are busy for me because I have an online shop and this is usually when sales go up sharply as everyone is buying presents for their family and friends. 🙂
Best of luck to you!
Thank you kindly, Andrew
You’re welcome.
Bloody hell, you make me look bad!
lol Awww don’t say that. :p
