Pingback: Blog Round Up: September 2017 – Rachel Poli
It’s amazing how many of us think we’re the only ones who do or like certain things. A friend of mine found this not long after we both discovered that we weren’t the only ones who made up stories about our favorite Tolkien characters. That it is a well established phenomenon and is called “fanfiction”. It was so amazing to find out we were far from being “the only one who . . .” 😊
(I’ve paraphrased this a little)
“Friendship … is born at the moment when one person says to another “What! You too? I thought that I was the only one who . . .”
― C.S. Lewis, The Four Loves
And I’ll throw in an extra, because Tolkien is my also one of my favorite authors.
“Fantasy remains a human right: we make in our measure and in our derivative mode, because we are made: and not only made, but made in the image and likeness of a Maker.”
J. R. R. TOLKIEN, On Fairy-Stories
😀 These are great quotes Pearl, I love the C.S Lewis one 🙂
