If you aren’t aware I accept guest posters onto this blog to share their thoughts, tips, wisdom and experiences with my readers (and gives them some exposure 🙂 ).
If you are a writer, editor, publisher, book reviewer or artist who designs book covers and are interested in doing a guest post, please read this post (yes..all the way through!)
Please read the below before asking for a slot and if you are still interested, select your deadline date from the bottom of this email and leave a comment or drop me an email (listed within this post). Deadline dates are first come first serve.
TOPIC
The topic can be on any topic*, though should be something relevant for this blog. So needs to be about writing, reading, reviewing books, publishing, editing, proofreading, personal experiences regarding writing/publishing, about you as a writer, what makes a great book, how you get your creative ideas etc.
* Please note the topic should not be a blatant advertisement for your book/art. This is not just a large ad-space and I will deject any post that appears that way.
If you are struggling to think of a topic, we can make it an interview and I can draft up some questions to ask.
Either is fine for me, however, if you want an interview, please let me know in a comment so I can create some questions ready.
Don’t worry if you want to write about a subject/technique already covered in the blog by either myself or another guest blogger, that is totally fine as well. Since we all have our own spin on things.
EDIT: One thing I won’t really accept is anything about fanfiction / fanart. I’m sorry if this is something you are in to, however I am more interested in supporting and encouraging writers/artists who create their own work rather than use other people’s ideas. This is my personal preference.
Word Length
There is no real word limit though most people don’t go over 1500 words. So it can be as long or as short as you want.
(However really long posts will be split over two posts and if it’s massive, I may ask you to cut it down…but that’s never happened…yet).
Deadline
At the bottom of this post, I will list the deadline dates, if you can let me know which date you would like. It is first come first serve, so if your date has been chosen, I will offer you another.
Please can I ask that you stick to the deadline, if you think you can’t complete in time please let me know in good time. If you have some commitments coming up, please let me know so I don’t give you a deadline you can’t meet.
I like to receive completed guest posts on Sundays so I can prep them on my blog and schedule them for publishing on the following Tuesday.
Eventually, I will move these to their own Guest Post page to keep this going.
Author Photo
I do like to include an author photo (if you are happy with that) I know my readers like to see the author of the post.
It doesn’t have to be a photo, it can be an artwork (like I have for my picture…since I hate photos of myself) or another image that you use as an avatar such as a logo/banner for your book/manuscript. Or I can supply a stock photo for the article.
Book Blurb & Photos
Whether you are a published author or not, feel free to include a short blurb about your current book (or your first book if you are in the middle of a series) or your work in progress manuscript.
It will be included at the end of your article (totally fine if you would rather not). Please note if I think your blurb is too long, I will ask you to cut it down. I would now prefer nothing beyond 200 words for the blurb
If you are a published author, please feel free to include an image of your book cover along with the blurb and one link on where the book can be purchased.
Links
Do please include some social media links that you want so that my readers can connect with you in different places.
This guest posting is all about sharing the love as well as getting awesome ideas and experiences from other people, so I want it to be good exposure for other writers/reviewers/publishers like yourself.
However, I would like to keep it to 10 or less.
Pimping
Once the article is published on this blog, I will link it to my Guest Posters page and I will then pimp it out on my Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and dA accounts to increase the exposure.
I would appreciate it if you took the time to also pimp it out to increase exposure. This guest posting is about supporting each other, so do take the time to spread the word (for your own exposure and this blog’s).
Sending Me Your Article
Please write your article in Word or any other word process equivalent, the book blurb and social media links can be listed at the very bottom and I will sort them into my blog.
Please send the pictures (author/book) as jpeg files rather than within the word document.
Please send the article, author photo (and book photo if applicable) to arimeghlen (at) gmail.com (remove (at) and spaces and put in @).
A Reminder
This guest posting malarky is to benefit everyone. Exposure for you, blog exposure for me, awesome tips, ideas, wisdom shared for the readers.
So you must write an ‘article’ not a full-page advert for your book/website etc. If I feel you are taking the piss and not giving my readers something worthwhile I will just not publish your article.
I’m happy to include the blurb about your current book / WIP manuscript, but the article can’t be just a way to sell your work.
Also, please only include the blurb/book picture of ONE book. Either your current or the first book of your series or if you are unpublished your manuscript.
Please don’t give me details/links about all your books, these will be ignored. Since I run this blog, I have the final say on whether to publish your article.
Questions
If you have any questions or want to discuss the topic you choose with me before writing it, in case you aren’t sure it will work, drop me an email, leave me a comment here or one on my Facebook page and I’ll come back to you.
Still Interested in Guest Posting?
If all the above hasn’t made you think, “hell no!” then drop me a comment to confirm if you are still up for it and let me know which date you want for your deadline. (it also proves to me that you have read this whole post) 🙂
Thanks for all the interest, faves, comments, follows. It’s awesome and appreciated!

Greetings Ari,
I got your message from my blog (Ascribe To Describe) and would love to do a guest post. If the 15th of October is still available, I can write for then.
Topic: The Joys of Writing Styles (you know, like, having different styles of writing?)
Wonderful! Thanks so much for agreeing, I will mark that slot as yours and your topic sounds great! I will check in with your closer to the deadline and if you have any questions, just let me know 🙂
Hi Nthato, just checking in that you are still okay to do the guest post for 15th October?
Haha I am literally working on it right now haha. I’ll be sending it to you in the next hour or so if that’s okay.
Wow that’s great, thanks 🙂 Wish all my guest posters were this good 😀
Haha thanks. I sent it to you now.
Hey, your guest post is now up. 🙂 Please share it on your social media to give it more exposure and thanks again for contributing 🙂
Awesome!
Hi Ari! I would love to be a part of your blog, especially with the new book baby coming up on July 25–are those July dates still open? 🙂
Hey Ari, EC here. I’d be interested in an interview for 25th June. Please let me know the next step in the process and thanks so much for the opportunity.
Hi ED, great to have you on board. Can you email me so I have you email address and I can then sort and send the questions 🙂
Additionally, I have the 11 June temporarily held for someone but they haven’t confirmed. If I send you the questions and you get them answered before the 1th would you want that date if the original guested fails to confirm?
Sure. Email is yecheilyah@yecheilyahysrayl.com
– EC
Excellent, I will get the questions over to you this weekend 😊
Sounds good. Make ’em nice and juicy! Lol.
Hi Ari, I’d like to do a post about my latest books – where ideas come from and how I integrate some of my own experiences in the stories. https://www.darlenejonesauthor.com/when_the_sun_was_mine.html
Hi Darlene, thanks for your comment. Please click the link at the bottom of the current post, it will take you to my page that goes through guidelines about what I need and will allow for a guest post. Once you have read that, drop me a note confirming you accept the guidelines and tell me your deadline date (listed at the bottom of the post). You can do a post about where ideas come from and how to integrate experiences into stories. That would be good. Please note though the posts cannot just be about your books. I look forward to hearing from you
Happy to take 28th May
Jann Weeratunga
